Factors and Multiples

A factor of a number divides it exactly (no remainder). Factors of 12: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 (because 12÷1=12, 12÷2=6, 12÷3=4, 12÷4=3, 12÷6=2, 12÷12=1). A multiple is obtained by multiplying a number. Multiples of 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25... Every number is a factor and multiple of itself.
