Class 5MathematicsMapping Your Way

Speed, Distance, Time

Speed = how fast something moves. Distance = how far it travels. Time = how long it takes. Relationship: Speed = Distance ÷ Time. Distance = Speed × Time. Time = Distance ÷ Speed. Example: A car travels 180 km in 3 hours. Speed = 180÷3 = 60 km/h. If speed = 80 km/h and time = 2.5 hours, distance = 80×2.5 = 200 km. Practice: A train travels at 100 km/h. How long to travel 350 km?
