A real number is any number that can be placed on a number line. It includes all rational numbers (like 0, 1, -3, 2/5, 0.75) and all irrational numbers (like โ2, ฯ, 1.010010001...). A real-life example: the height of a student (say 1.65 m) is a real number because it can be measured exactly on a scale.
