Germination

Steps: Seed absorbs water, swells. Seed coat softens, splits. Radicle (root) grows downward (gravity). Plumule (shoot) grows upward (light). Cotyledons supply food. First true leaves appear. The plant is now a seedling โ it can make its own food via photosynthesis.
